Galaxy Tab gets fullscreen mode for all apps with a simple tweak

The fact that a large portion of the Android apps don’t use the whole available screen estate is probably the main issue of the Galaxy Tab software. The great news is that a helpful hacker has just found an easy tweak that allows you to get fix that.
All that’s required is to download the free Spare Parts app from the Andriod Market and follow the instructions from the video below. After a couple of reboots you will be good to go, enjoying all the apps you want full screen.

Google's Android platform turns 3, Gingerbread due on 11 November

The Android platform was born on this day three years ago, on 5 November 2007, and the first device based on the platform was introduced nearly one year later, on 22 October when the T-Mobile G1 saw daylight for the first time.
However, the story began back in 2005 when Google acquired the Android Inc. Then, it was only a matter of time for the Android platform to show up. Now, a few years later, this is one of the fastest developing operating systems.
The Android OS hasn't stop improving since day 1. Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo… Those are all sweets but at the same time these are the names of the numerous Android updates released over the years. And rumor is the next one, Android 2.3 a.k.a. Gingerbread, is about to be launched in a week, on 11 November.
As for the applications compatible with the Android platform, currently, there are more than 100 000 apps over at the Android Market and their number is continuing growing and growing.
Currently,there are 141 Android handset

Nokia C6-01 starts shipping

Today Nokia announced that another of the devices unveiled at this year’s Nokia world started shipping. Nokia C6-01 is the most affordable Symbian^3 handset to date and also the most compact one.
The most interesting part of the Nokia C6-01however is its 3.2” AMOLED display. It’s the first publicly available unit to use the new Nokia ClearBlack technology that promises to improve the image quality significantly. Considering that the non-ClearBlack Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 were pretty good we have some high hopes for these new screens.
The display aside, Nokia C6-01 packs virtually the same feature set as the more expensive C7. You get an 8 megapixel camera (regrettably fixed-focus), capable of recording HD video, 680 MHz CPU with dedicated graphics accelerator and 256 MB of RAM.
Of course, some sacrifices were needed for the price tag to be achieved and in this case it’s the internal memory (only 340 MB and a 2GB card on the C6-01 vs 8GB on the C7) and the waistline (13.9mm vs 10.5mm).
It all sounds pretty decent actually considering the estimated retail price of 260 euro before taxes and subsidies.
